Omega 3 Benefits for Pets and Their Humans with OmegaBrite

I'm not the best at taking my vitamins, but I seem to do better with giving supplements to The Ginger Sisters. We've tried fish oil, coconut oil, and several different calming supplements. The research seems like it is always changing, but the benefits of omega fatty acids for both pets and humans are consistently backed by science. After obtaining proper dosage instructions for Boca's 32 pounds and Ruby's 18 pounds, I started giving the girls two capusles and one capsule, respectively, with their evening meal. This was an easy reminder for me to also take my two capsules each night! I've since discovered that Boca will happily eat her capsules plain and whole.

Here are some of the benefits for dogs:

EPA, one of the two omega-3 fatty acids in OmegaBrite, acts as an anti-inflammatory. This will help with any condition that causes inflammation of the heart, kidneys, skin, and joints—such as arthritis etc

OmegaBrite will ease inflammation due to allergies, and reduce itchy skin and dandruff. This can also be an effective way to potentially decrease the incidence of hot spots on your pet.

OmegaBrite promotes a shiny, healthy coat, and reduces shedding. (For cats, this may also mean fewer hairballs, since your cat won't pick up as many loose hairs while grooming.)

DHA, the other omega-3 fatty acid in OmegaBrite, is important in brain and eye development in puppies and kittens. Giving OmegaBrite to pregnant or nursing pets can benefit the babies once they're born.

In some studies, fish oil has slowed the growth of cancer. Though more studies are needed to reach conclusive results, some veterinarians recommend it for any pets with cancer.

Our 14-day trial has so far yielded some noticeable results. The most dramatic are the changes in Ruby's coat. Both girls have very smooth, short hair, but as Ruby gets older I think more of her Border Collie genes are coming out, and her undercarriage, bloomers and tail get longer and fluffier by the year! The difference in her coat is the most noticeable, with dark red tones coming out and softer and shinier than I've ever seen.

Both Ruby and Boca are in excellent healthy; however, we had a big scare with Boca's eye a few years ago, and the exact cause was never determined. Our ophthalmologist suggested that Boca could have had a run-in with a tick-borne disease and that her immune system could be compromised for life. The autoimmune benefits of omega fatty acids are something that is especially relevant for Boca.

This particular supplement was developed with a focus on brain health. Ruby could probably do calculus already, but for myself I have noticed a little more mental energy lately. My mood has definitely improved over the last two weeks; however, I've also gone on two weekend trips to the Colorado mountains as the aspen leaves are in full autumnal glory, so I can't give OmegaBrite all the credit. One of my favorite things about OmegaBrite, having taken fish oil supplements in the past, is that there is no fishy aftertaste. If you hate swallowing pills like I do, there is even a kids' version!

I really like that OmegaBrite is formulated from small cold water fish from coastal South America. Salmon oil, while popular, holds the risk of containing higher levels of mercury. The smaller fish like sardines and anchovies have less risk of these higher levels. I feel great about giving my girls a human-grade Omega 3 supplement with stringent testing policies, too!
