Boca is a Bit of a Material Girl

Boca loves her things. Here she poses with the latest toy The Ginger Sisters got over the holidays. It came with a tennis ball, but it was one of those chintzy ones that are soon halved, so I swapped it out for their new West Paw ball. We call this toy The Christmas Claw.

Boca is happiest having her cake and eating it too, which means one toy for now and one just in case. Her second choice is the ever-popular Benebone, known as "wishbones" and kept in constant stock around here.

I can't help but wonder if this doesn't have something to do with Boca's former life on the streets of The Bahamas, when anything of her own was meager and hard won. I'm happy that I can provide her with all the toys she wants to hoard.

  1. Boca is so cute with all of her stuff!

Phoenix is the same way! She loves having stuff and she is usually got a toy or chewy with her or one of my socks. :D

  2. Awww, that's so sweet! Blueberry doesn't have much interest in toys unless I pretend to want her Nylabones...then she will lie on one and chew the other. She is a terrible sharer. ;)

  4. Boca is so cute guarding her stuff. It could be her former life coming out in her or she just may be one of those siblings that never wants to share!

  5. Barley's a material girl, too! She loves her toys--not so much to play with, although she will chase them if I toss them, but she loves to carry them around and snuggle up with them. That claw is so interesting!

  9. I'm so pleased Boca loves her Christmas Claw and has found a lovely home. My two, Marble and Elsie have a Toy Story style toy basket to choose from, they are so worth it though. Have a great day.

  10. Luna hoards too! She was found wandering by a road in rural Virginia, so we don't know much about her prior history either. But, I often wonder.

  12. She's so cute and that reminds me of the way Laika is with her toys, especially those Benebones. Before bed when we're on the couch watching TV she usually brings 3 separate toys up with her to have.. She doesn't play with them, she just keeps em near.
